In addition to a highly qualified team of physicians, nurses and clinical staff, we offer the very latest in technology and diagnostic imaging capabilities. ORMC is a home to Central Florida’s only Level One Trauma Center.

Orlando Health Rehabilitation Institute is home to a few well-known community programs, such as Lucerne Spinal Center, the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Center (BIRC) and Center for Orthopedics. We have been doing what we do for almost 30 years. We offer comprehensive care in the hospital setting that helps you get back to your life. Whether you have had a traumatic accident, were injured on the job or have been through joint replacement surgery, our goal is to help you achieve independence again with your day to day routine. We do this through consistency and teamwork, and including you and your family as active members of our team.

Lucerne Spinal Center
At Lucerne Spinal Center, we specialize in rehabilitation for people with spinal cord injuries. These include paraplegia, quadriplegia, central cord syndrome and many other spinal conditions. Our interdisciplinary team is made up of doctors, nurses and therapists who have specialty training in the area of spinal cord rehabilitation, and our outcomes reflect this (link to outcomes). More of our patients are discharged back into the community than the national average.

In addition to providing mentorship from others with spinal cord injury, Lucerne Spinal Center is also home to the Spinal Cord Injury Support Group, which is open to patients and people in the community. A typical length of stay for a patient with spinal cord injury can vary from a few weeks to two months, depending on how much therapy is required to achieve the greatest level of independence.  Learn more at http://bit.ly/1AqNpYg

Bert became a C6-7 quadriplegic as a result of an automobile accident in his youth. His desire to make a positive difference in the lives of people with disabilities led him to establish UroMed as well as creating a free motivational program for peer support and rehabilitation groups that today is known as Life After Spinal Cord Injury.

Have any questions?
Bert will be accompanied by Michael Grimm, a manager for Edgepark & UroMed and can be reached by phone or e-mail: 443-310-7454 or mgrimm@uromed.com.
