UroMed Creates Photo Magic for Kids at the 2011 Georgia Spina Bifida Association Walk N Roll

Face painting, photo booths and fall foliage were the recipe for success at the Georgia Spina Bifida Association's 6th Annual Walk N Roll!

UroMed and LASCI turned out in full force for the Georgia Spina Bifida Association’s 6th Annual Walk-N-Roll on November 5, 2011 from 10am—2pm in Atlanta’s Piedmont Park.  More than 150 friends and families participated in this fundraising event for Spina Bifida programs in Georgia.

Many of the participants supported a friend or a family member by creating fundraising teams for the walk. The team who raised the most money by walk time at 11:30am won a $50 gift certificate to Willy’s Cantina.

Making Kids’ Dreams Come True
Camp Dream also returned for the Walk this year. They have lots of fun activities planned for kids in their camp programs at the Roosevelt Warm Springs Institute for Rehabilitation in Warm Springs, GA. Camp Dream said that they really enjoy being with the Spina Bifida kids at their camp sessions. Learn more about Camp Dream at: www.campdreamga.org

Throughout its 15 years, Camp Dream has been building for the future. Their onsite facilities have been provided through generous partnerships with organizations such as the Lanier Foundation and the Calloway Foundation with considerable effort and fundraising by the Georgia Jaycees.

If the facilities that are available to their campers were just those that resided within the camp, it would still be a very very special place. However, through partnerships with Roosevelt Institute and Good Shepherd, they have additional facilities and activities that make Camp Dream even more unique and special.  These partnerships  allow them to bring a full recreational experience to their campers that is unequalled.

Their facilities are well equipped for our immediate planned growth with a capacity to provide camping sessions to  over 400 “special-abled” kids and allow the campers to find their own capabilities and experience fun and adventure.

The friendly staff from Camp Dream would love to help more children with Spina Bifida in Georgia.

In addition to the fundraising, the most important outcome of the walk is that we showed Georgia that we have a great group of people with a big voice supporting Spina Bifida. We had such a great turn out, including the fans, friends and families below.

Photo Magic From UroMed
UroMed sponsored the 6th Annual Walk N Roll, and we also contributed to the event through a volunteer staff of more than 20 employees and friends.  Some of our friends at Mixtape Entertainment created a photo booth where participants could capture the day’s fun in a picture to share with others who couldn’t attend the event. Here are some highlights:
